Lighten your load by giving to the poor what you have amassed with such labor; give to the person who doesn't have anything, because here is something that you too don't have either -I mean you don't have eternal life. So give from what you have, in order to receive what you do not have. The poor man is hammering at the door; you are hammering at the door of your Lord. God treats his beggar in the way that you treat yours; so give, and you will be given.
