Fr. Tom Behan O.S.A.'s 50th Anniversary of Pristley Ordination

"What I am for you terrifies me, what I am with you consoles me; for you I am a priest, but with you I am a Christian" -St. Augustine.

Fr. Tom Behan OSA, celebrated his 50th year as a priest on September 22nd of this year. Family, friends, and his Augustinian brothers were present at the Mass he celebrated at Our Mother of Good Counsel Parish in Los Angeles, and at the reception.

Fr. Tom highlighted that the priesthood is very difficult because of the priest's human weakness. So as another human being in need of God's Grace, he stands with the non-ordained members of the body of Christ as a fellow pilgrim on the way to the City of God. Yet, with and by the Grace of God, as a priest he is strenghtened to be a shepherd on behalf of Christ.

50 years ago Fr. Tom's intention was to be able to bring God to others, and this motive continues with him 50 years later.

We are grateful for God's call to Fr. Tom to be an Augustinian Priest!
